How many miles of fencing would it take to surround the state of Utah?

It would take 42880 miles of fencing to surround the state of Utah.

Use the scale factor to estimate the area of Utah.

The area of Utah is 86800 This is so because the bottom edge of the map is 270miles and the left side is 350miles. Multiplying these two gives 91800. Then I multiply 70x110 because that is the area for the indent. This gives 7700. Then I just subtract the numbers to get the Area
